Javier Colón Ríos began his career as an editor and independent director after finishing his bachelor's degree in Telecommunications at the University of the Sacred Heart in Puerto Rico. He holds a master's degree in film directing from the American Film Institute. After making several award-winning short films, he wrote, produced and directed his first feature film "I am a Director", which is distributed by The Sundance Channel, Starz and Canal +. After the success of his first film, he co-wrote and directed "Yo Soy Un Político" which he sold to HBO and can now be seen on Amazon Prime. Javier has also had the opportunity to direct commercials, web-series, and music videos. He recently directed another feature film titled "Inside the Circle." This past year he was able to shadow Gina Lamar on television's "Jane the Virgin" as well as Aprill Winney on "Good Trouble".
